Staying protected against COVID-19 continues to play an important role in public health across Ireland. At Mac Sherry’s Pharmacy in Kilcoole, we’re proud to support the HSE’s vaccination programme by offering first doses, second doses and booster shots, all in line with the latest national guidance.
Currently, COVID-19 boosters are recommended for certain groups, including:
If you are not in one of these groups, you may still be eligible for a booster after consulting with your GP or pharmacist.
Before scheduling your booster, be sure to check your eligibility and ensure the recommended time has passed since your last dose or a COVID-19 infection. In most cases, this is a minimum of six months.
For added convenience, we also offer the flu vaccine alongside your COVID-19 booster if required, helping you stay protected during the colder months.
To book your COVID-19 vaccine, contact Mac Sherry’s Pharmacy in Kilcoole directly by phone, email or in-store. You can also visit the HSE website for the most up-to-date information on eligibility and vaccine availability.
If you have any concerns or would like to speak to someone about vaccine safety, side effects or timing, our team is here to help. You can chat to us in-store or contact us directly. We’re always happy to offer clear, professional advice tailored to you.
The Antigen test consists of a nose swab antigen test to check for a current COVID-19 (coronavirus) infection.
The pharmacist will take a swab from each nostril. If your test is negative, you will be emailed an EU Digital Covid Certificate in less than an hour which you can upload to your phone (Covid Tracker App or similar). Antigen tests are not as accurate as a PCR test and are designed to detect the virus at levels that are more likely to mean you’re infectious and could spread the infection to others.
